KTBC FOX 7 and myFOXaustin.com
As a web producer with Austin's top rated news station, there was always more to be done than there were hours in the day to do it. The job description varied from day to day and involved putting stories and video online, creating original content, working with promotions and advertising for online campaigns and managing social networks. Often, it's hard to quantify just what was done in a day because it is spread across so many platforms including Facebook, Twitter, myFOXaustin, Flickr and more. Below I've created a timeline of some of our network's big stories and outlined how I covered the story through all of these different avenues. Scroll from left to right to follow the coverage, and be patient for the photos to load.

Downtown Club Fires
Working the morning shift is tough. It starts at 5 a.m. and you are the only web producer on staff. It gets even tougher though when there is big breaking news. I came in on this day to at least five Downtown Austin clubs on fire. Above is the coverage I single-handedly produced through the morning shift.
