Birds Barbershop is an Austin-based salon that has enjoyed a meteroic rise and growth to four locations in the city in only five years' time. Their clientele ranges from the city mayor Will Wynn to rock legend Blondie. I began working with the salon as an advertiser on my website. They were a natural fit to incorporate into Austin Style Watch coverage and not just as a banner ad along the edge of the page.

The salon throws an annual SXSW music festival party bringing big-name bands into the salons for a public party. I pitched the "In the Chair" project to them as video that would not only document the event, but would make content that would be usable by bloggers and music fans while reinforcing the salon's brand.

For In The Chair, I wrote interview questions, shot video, handled audio, edited the segments and animated the opening sequence. I also helped to distribute the videos through youtube (for its mass appeal) and Vimeo (for its quality).
