Journalism is about to change completely:
It's time for a whole new type of journalist
Depending on who you ask, the internet has either killed journalism or reinvented it. There's a glut of information out there,
half of it's untrue, anyone can publish anything and nothing is private. It's a scary environment for journalism, but it's also
reinvigorating readers and revolutionizing the way information is shared.
News outlets need staff who can utilize all that the internet has to offer.
Somewhere between web developers and reporters lie multimedia journalists:
a new field for a new era. As a multimedia journalist I have all the traditional
journalism skills, but I'm also trained in new types of media like podcasting,
blogging, reader interaction and flash animation.
I'm excited to be a journalist in the age of the industry's reinvention,
and I'm always seeking jobs where I can combine my creativity, journalistic
curiosity and technical knowledge.
Take a look at the multimedia section to see some examples of non-linear and interactive stories I've worked on. To see some of my writing and reporting, visit the articles section.
I've also included some of my design and graphics work, and a few examples of the art I enjoy doing in my spare time.
